Well spelling is everything in jeaporday parents and him can get over it good heavens they know the rules

The worst part for me was that Alex said he "misspelled it badly." One misplaced letter in a word like "Emancipation" is not "badly," but "minor."

I saw that show, He would not have won even if he had spelled it right.

i’m sorry but rules are rules… especially when it comes to game shows where real money is involved

He would still have lost. Sorry I do not have empathy. Sounds to me the kid is spoiled and has issues in being corrected. And a soar loser. I believe the rules are there that if you misspell a word wrong and if it alters the pronunciation then it will count against the contestant. In this case what the kid spelled altered the pronunciation of the correct answer. Sounded differently. That is why it was wrong. It is one of their rules. All these people on here saying they should still have given it to him we all know he knew the correct answer. Rules are rules. It’s like laws are laws. If you break a law do you get awarded for it or do you get punished for it? Follow the rules and follow the laws. When a person mispronounces a word they do not get the win so therefore logically speaking you misspell the word and alters pronunciation then logically it will be wrong too.

Yeah…they should have given it to him…but it wouldn’t have mattered.

How dare the Jeopardy judges not care if a contestant misspells a word! Spoiled kid by the parents. He was wrong, so deal with it.

This was robbery, as far as I'm concerned.
If his spelling was so bad that the judges literally couldn't tell what he meant, sure, okay, that's a dead wrong answer. But he clearly knew the right answer, and simply misspelled it. You try writing down "emancipation proclamation" in under thirty seconds if you're twelve years old, on TV for the first time in your life. Jeopardy's excuse here is terrible.

Do a search. Jeopardy messed up on a clue about the 7th inning stretch song. Take Out to the Ball Game. Look it up. Lady was wrong. They said she was right.

Anyone that knew that answer......but can't spell it.......... had a headset on anyway. Screw that kid.
